Going off to college is a very important step in a young adult’s life. It can be exciting, but many concerns come with this phase of life. You might be worried about your living arrangements while away from home. Dorm life isn’t for everyone, but fortunately, you do have other options. Off-campus housing is becoming a popular choice for many kids because it offers some pretty attractive perks.

Pamela Frank and Harry Belafonte got married in 2008 after being together for over a decade.

    Home Away From Home

Off-campus housing offers you the opportunity to avoid dorm life, which can include strict rules, curfews, and communal bathrooms. Instead, you have the option to choose from a variety of multi-bedroom floor plans that provide you with your own personal space. Each resident has their own bedroom with a lock and private bathroom. Walk-in closets allow you to easily store all of your belongings within that space. or you can find roommates you like on your own. or you can request your friends as roommates.

In addition to your own bed and bath, these pet-friendly apartments have shared kitchens and living areas. The fully equipped kitchen allows you to buy your own groceries and prepare meals according to your own schedule. Many dorms have restaurants with limited hours, and they only allow hot plates in the rooms for cooking. An in-unit washer and dryer makes doing your laundry convenient, and high-speed internet makes it easy to keep up on your studies as well as stay in touch with family and friends back home. UF housing is fully furnished with modern pieces. Staying there will help you save you time and money. You won’t have to bring your own items along or have to worry about renting a truck or trailer to haul everything back and forth.

    Socializing and Fun

When you think of college life, fun and friends immediately come to mind. Off-campus housing provides you with plenty of community spaces where you can hang out with your current friends as well as make new ones. Resort-style pools are perfect for taking a dip in the water or relaxing in the sun, and the 24-hour fitness center lets you keep up with your workout routine. Basketball courts and sand volleyball courts are perfect places to enjoy a little friendly competition with your fellow students, and the outdoor grill is ideal for gathering together in the evening for meals.

Sometimes, you just have to buckle down and hit the books, and these student apartment complexes understand that. Onsite computer labs provide you with a quiet place to study, and outdoor pavilions give you a peaceful area to read. Group study sessions are often held in the clubhouse, which allows you to work with others. When it comes time to take a break from your classes, scheduled activities and events like pizza parties and gaming tournaments give you a chance to make new friends and relax.

    Excellent Location

There’s a lot to think about when considering off-campus housing. Top on that list is the location of your apartment. These student apartments are within a mile of the campus which makes commuting to your classes easy. You’ll also find yourself close to local groceries stores and retailers for all of your shopping needs, and restaurants are available nearby as well.

Sometimes you’ll need to get away and take a break from your studies. Local parks are close by, and they provide trails for walking or bicycling. Almost everything you need can be found nearby. These places are usually within walking distance so that you don’t have to worry about having a vehicle. If you do have your car with you, onsite covered parking garages give you a safe place to park. You, as well as your parents, will have peace of mind knowing that you are in a safe environment with all of the essentials close at hand.

If you are looking for some privacy while away at school, but you still want to make friends and have fun, off-campus housing is ideal. You’ll be able to enjoy a college feel without the concerns that come with dorm life. You’ll be able to keep up on your studies, and you won’t have to sacrifice safety.
